THEME: THE DESCENT OF THE HOLY SPIRITReadings: Acts 2:1–11; 1 Corinthians 12:3–7, 12–13; John 20:19–23Pentecost Sunday 2026 Introduction Today, the Church celebrates one of her greatest feasts: Pentecost—the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles.   Before Pentecost, the disciples were hiding behind locked doors, afraid and uncertain about the future. But after receiving the Holy Spirit, they emerged transformed — bold, joyful, united, and filled with divine power. Peter, who once denied Jesus, now preached fearlessly before crowds. The Apostles, who were once timid, became missionaries ready to suffer and even die for the Gospel. Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Accra, Ghana

Ordained a priest in 1992 and consecrated bishop on April 19, 2023, Bishop Louis brings over three decades of pastoral, academic, and administrative ministry to his preaching. He holds a PhD in the Study of Religions from the University of Ghana and an STL in Dogmatic Theology from the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome.

Author of several volumes of The Word in Season and out of Season — homilies for every Sunday and solemnity across the three-year liturgical cycle. His preaching is marked by clarity, warmth, deep Scriptural grounding, and a passion for making the Gospel accessible to all.
